About ARDS Licenced Instruction
Association of Racing Driver’s Schools
The ARDS Instructor Licence is issued by the RAC Motor Sports Association following a stringent assessment and a written and practical examination by the sponsoring racing school. A driver must have a provable history of racing experience before he / she can apply to be assessed for an ARDS Instructor Licence.
Most of the UK’s leading racing circuits will not allow unlicenced instructors to operate on their tracks.
The Association of Track Day Organisers (ATDO) recommends that all track day operators use only ARDS Licenced (or otherwise approved) Instructors. See the ATDO Code of Practice. For safety and insurance purposes, always check that your instructor is licenced… ask to see their ARDS Licence.
